La Favorita

La Favorita

Located in the centre of Madrid in a building with more than 100 years of history, for the last 25 years it has been filled with opera, gastronomy, art, familiarity and hospitality. Drinking, eating, laughing, meeting friends and listening to live opera is possible on the same stage. It's fun with good taste.

Going back in history, the name La Favorita comes from an opera by Donizetti to which the Navarrese tenor Julián Gayarre was particularly fond of. Julián Gayarre (1844-1890) died in Madrid at the age of 45. He was at the zenith of his career, having triumphed from St. Petersburg to Buenos Aires, via London's Covent Garden, the Paris Opera, La Scala in Milan and, of course, the Teatro Real in Madrid.

His style of singing remains a benchmark to this day, in addition to his supernatural voice and the example of his work and perseverance, which took him from shepherding sheep in the Navarrese Pyrenees to the highest heights of musical art. His honesty and generosity are also, without a doubt, a good example for our times.

What stands out most about La Favorita is the atmosphere that every night and day is created. It has a fantastic outdoor space with a garden and several reserved spaces. It guarantees a special celebration with a good dose of Navarrese gastronomy and live opera entertainment.
