Spanish capital is a preferred destination for business and conference tourism. An ideal destination for holding all types of meetings, it has a modern infrastructure and is currently one of the top five destinations in the world for business meetings, conferences, trade fairs, conventions, and incentive trips.
Madrid hosts some of the world's most important international events such as FITUR (Madrid International Tourism Fair), ARCO (International Contemporary Art Fair), SALÓN GOURMET (International Quality Food and Drink Fair), MADRID FUSIÓN (International Gastronomy Summit) or MERCEDES-BEZN FASHION WEEK MADRID MBMFWMadrid, the great fashion catwalk.
In the Community of Madrid in 2021 it is expected that more than 70 sectorial and specialised trade fairs will be held in antiques, art and crafts, tourism and hospitality, leisure and entertainment, sport, fashion, gastronomy, technology, wine and beverages, video games, footwear, textiles, industry and decoration, of which 38 will be international shows.
Trade fair activity continues throughout the year with a wide and varied sectorial and professional offer.
The capital has several venues that cover the different events, although not all fairs are held in them, some are outdoors, such as the well-known Book Fair that takes place in the Retiro Park. Some of these venues are:
IFEMA: The Feria de Madrid IFEMA, in addition to trade fairs, organises congresses, conventions, other events and activities. It has 12 pavilions, 2 auditoriums, 85 halls and 2 catwalks. It holds around 900 events a year in 3,500,000 square metres of gross floor space, almost half of which is net floor space.
Palacio Deportes: the venue has been called Wizink Center since 2016 and in previous years it was called Barclaycard Center. The former Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid has for years been a multi-purpose space that organises, hosts and rents out large-scale events and musical, sporting, corporate, family, show and other events.
Palacio Municipal de Congresos: Just 5 minutes from Madrid-Barajas airport, in Campo de las Naciones, with more than 30,000 square metres of usable space, the modern Palacio Municipal de Congresos is the perfect venue for congresses, meetings and product presentations in Madrid.
Casa de Campo: One of the most traditional venues for the organisation of meetings and trade fairs in Madrid. Located in Madrid's most important green lung, five minutes from the central Plaza de España.
