Lozoya

LOZOYA

It is located in the center of the valley to which it gives its name, forming part of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. Lozoya is known for its spectacular views over the valley, from where you can see the Pinilla-Lozoya reservoir, Cabeza de Hierro, the peak of Peñalara and many other landscapes that take the tourist into a place where you can breathe fresh air.

In the historic center of Lozoya you can visit the Parish Church of El Salvador whose original construction was the maximum exponent of Gothic and Plateresque of the whole mountain range. It also highlights the Palacete Suárez de la Concha, also called Old Convent, which was built in the sixteenth century by the lords of the town (the Suárez de Mendoza). Already in the surroundings (at km 11.800 of the M-604) we find the Puente del Congosto or Puente Canto.

A curious corner of Lozoya is the Factory of "Natural Chocolate" is a traditional Chocolate Factory where they work in an artisan way with a traditional process of elaboration of the different products. Come and take home a sweet souvenir.

Lozoya has one of the widest offers of outdoor activities, you can enjoy its fishing areas in the river and the Pinilla reservoir, canoe routes, mountain biking, orienteering, horseback riding...
