Berzosa de Lozoya

BERZOSA DEL LOZOYA

Built on the mountainside, it has a great scenic quality given by the rivers and reservoirs of its surroundings and can be traveled on foot, horseback or bicycle.

There are many companies that offer services such as bicycle tourism with bicycle rental, relaxation therapies, horseback riding, paragliding from El Picozo, climbing in the climbing wall or nautical activities in the reservoir and El Atazar.

From its agricultural and livestock past there are vestiges such as the horseshoeing colt or the Fuente de la Hontana, along with a multitude of typical mountain buildings made of stone and slate. While the Parish Church of the Assumption of Our Lady is a good example of a building worth contemplating while strolling through Berzosa de Lozoya.

Already outdoors, the Senda del Picozo (path of almost 2 km) allows you to enjoy the breathtaking views, with a panoramic view of the Sierra de Guadarrama, including its highest peak Pico Peñalara. Or a slightly longer route on the path of Serrada, where if we are lucky we can spot some animal species such as roe deer, wild boars and be flown over by booted eagles or great titmouse. A path for the whole family of low difficulty of just 1 hour is the one that runs through the Dehesa de Berzosa in which you can see on the horizon the reservoirs of El Villar and El Atazar.
