 COLLADO VILLALBA

The municipality is located on the slopes of the Sierra de Guadarrama, which marks its orography that gradually rises. The Guadarrama River and numerous streams flow through the land, which also has an abundance of dioritic granites or berroqueña stone. In its surroundings you can practice hiking following some of the signposted routes.

The artistic heritage of Collado Villalba is present thanks to the Church of Nuestra Señora del Enebral, built between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries but which has undergone several reforms. It has a rectangular nave, a Romanesque arched apse and a granite ashlar tower. Inside the church there is a sculpture of the Virgen del Enebral and a granite baptismal font, both from the 17th century.

Other examples of heritage are the Piedra del Concejo and the Caño Viejo. The Piedra del Concejo, located next to the Town Hall, is an Asset of Cultural Interest with category of Historic Site, it has a tiered structure and in it the councils were held since the seventeenth century. The Caño Viejo is the only Arab fountain that survives from the Muslim domination and is characterized by its vault.
