BATRES

Located in an area of countryside and crossed by the Guadarrama River, the passage of history has left in Batres some heritage elements of interest such as the Castle of Laso de Vega and the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.

The Castle was built between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries on an elevation that allows excellent views of the area. The architectural studies carried out indicate that the tower of homage is the oldest element, which is 25 meters high and protrudes from the almost square enclosure of the castle.

The Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción has a neo-Mudejar style and is original from the XVI century although with reforms in the XIX century. It is a slender construction of a single rectangular nave with polygonal chancel and a tower of three bodies -in the upper one is located the bell tower- with high height.
