Visit the Monumental Nativity Scene of San Lorenzo de El Escorial

Declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, it allows you to travel through the history of Spain and especially the reign of Philip II, with a visit to the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

Until January 7, 2024, you can enjoy this great experience with life-size handmade figures that has been performed for 27 years.

The Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, was completed in 1584 to commemorate the victory of San Quintín, which took place on the day of San Lorenzo.

Designed by Juan Bautista de Toledo and Juan de Herrera, it is a spectacular work of architecture with Doric and Ionic columns, among which the coat of arms of Philip II stands out.

Inside you will find the Plaza of the Kings (Patio de Reyes), the Basilica, the library, the crypt of the Kings (Panteón de Reyes), the crypt of the Princes and Princesses (Panteón de Infantes), the palaces (Palacios), and the Chapter Rooms (Salas capitulares), among other areas.
