New season of the Corral de Comedias in Alcalá de Henares

This October the Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares premieres its season, coinciding in this edition with the Cervantine Week 2023, which is celebrated in October, and with the 25th anniversary of the declaration of Alcalá de Henares as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

This season 2023-24 has planned a complete program ranging from classical works to performances by recently recognized and award-winning artists. In addition, cycles such as Delirios de Shakespeare, a perfect opportunity for the public to rediscover the stories of the famous writer, are scheduled.

Miguel de Cervantes with Enmudecer al hablar, directed by Abel González Melo, and Tennessee Williams with Streetcar Named Desire are other plays to be performed this season at the Corral de Comedias de Alcalá de Henares.

It is also worth mentioning the performance of the play Talaré a los hombres de sobre la faz de la tierra, text written and directed by María Velasco, Max Award for best playwriting; Sweet Dreams, the one-man show by Alberto Velasco, Godoff Award for best staging and the Actors' Union Award for best leading actor in theater, are other of the proposals that can be enjoyed during this season.

In November, the Corral de Comedias will host the 52nd edition of the Alcine Film Festival and the 41st edition of the Autumn Festival of the Region of Madrid, which will host the premiere of Estudios elementales by Luz Prado and Jesús Rubio Gamo.

In December, the Corral de Comedias will stage the family theater fable El contrabajo estrellado and the cabaret Moonlight Serenade.
