39th Festival de Otoño


Madrid celebrates the performing arts with the 39th edition of the Festival de Otoño, the great annual event that brings to the city the best proposals for dance, theater and other dramatic disciplines, read on!

From November 11 to 28, a multitude of venues in our region will host the best national and international companies. Classical theater, contemporary dance, immersive theater, poetry, performances and even cinema; an extensive and varied program that includes both established artists and new talents.

Shows can be seen in the best theaters and venues in the city, such as the Teatros del Canal, La Casa Encendida, the Teatro de la Abadía and the Cuarta Pared. The festival will also take dramatic art to other municipalities in the region, such as San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Aranjuez and Alcalá de Henares.

Teatros del Canal will host, among others, "Triptych: The missing door, The lost room and The hidden floor" from November 11 to 14, a dance and theater show by the Belgian company Peeping Tom. On the 17th and 18th, the contemporary dance company Mal Pelo presents "Highlands", an exploration of Bach's music, and from the 26th to the 28th you can see "Transverse Orientation", a dance and reflection proposal with music by Vivaldi.

In other venues in the city, among others, "Imprenteros" can be seen at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque, from November 11 to 13. Bros", an Italian theatrical proposal, will be shown at the same center from November 24 to 26. The Cuarta Pared theater will present "Tú amarás", a Chilean play, on November 12 and 13. On November 20 and 21, the theater will present "Geologie d'une Fable", a Lebanese theater without text, and on November 25 and 26 "El hermoso misterio que nos une", a national contemporary dance show starring Jesús Rubio, will be performed.

At the Teatro Real Carlos III in Aranjuez, "Imprenteros" will be presented again on the 14th. "Geologie d'une Fable" returns on the 26th to the Real Coliseo de Carlos III in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, and on the 27th and 28th it will be at the Corral de Comedias in Alcalá de Henares.
