This fall, if you are enthusiastic about flamenco, Spanish music and palace architecture, you cannot miss the concert series "Flamenco en palacio. A diverse look at flamenco heritage", a Cultural Heritage initiative that brings the best musical tradition to different historic palaces in the region.
You can enjoy different flamenco proposals within the walls of such important palaces as the Palace of the infante Don Luis de Borbón, the Palace of Viana and the Palace of Fernán Núñez. A unique opportunity that combines the best Spanish art with the best preserved historical heritage.
On Saturday, October 30, do not miss the concert "Pequeña antología flamenca. Contemporary evolution from the singing and piano" at the Palace of infante Don Luis de Borbón, through the different styles or "palos" of flamenco to bring its renewing footprint.
On Thursday, November 25, the Palacio de Viana will host the "social flamenco" of the singer, sociologist and activist Lourdes Pastor.
The series of concerts will end on Thursday, December 16 at the eighteenth-century Palacio de Fernán Núñez. There, the young flamenco singer Ángeles Toledano will present "Flamenco raíz. Rescate patrimonial de cantes tradicionales", her particular proposal that wants to rescue and return to the present the palos, styles and lyrics of the flamenco tradition that have fallen into disuse.
These concerts are part of the project Bienvenidos a Palacio 2021, a program of guided visits to twenty palaces in the region. Flamenco was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO so this is a unique opportunity to enjoy this art.
All concerts will be recorded in their entirety and will be collected in a video library.
