Free guided tours in Horcajo de la Sierra-Aoslos

 

This week we bring you some free guided tours in Horcajo de la Sierra-Aoslos. If you feel like getting out of the routine and enjoy the outdoors, this plan is perfect for you. On Saturday mornings you can visit this town formed by two small villages in the Middle Valley of Lozoya in the Sierra Norte de Madrid.

An urban walk through the narrow streets of the municipality along the Calle Mayor, visiting the places of interest: the 15th century Gothic church of San Pedro in Catedra, the 16th century interior altarpiece with several Flemish tables, and the rural architecture and some rural houses from the 18th and 20th centuries. Its recreational areas of La Alberca and La Tejera are perfect to spend a day in the countryside.  

It has several hiking trails: the Dehesa Boyal and the Horcajo de la Sierra watercourse (circular. Distance: 6.1 km. Elevation gain: 175 m), the urban route through Horcajo and Aoslos, an easy route for all ages, the route of the mills and Bellidas (circular. Distance: 8 km. Elevation gain: 96 m), and the Alto de la Pinilla and remains of the Civil War (circular. Distance: 16.5 km. Elevation gain: 853 m).

In addition, the activity service "El Cielo es el Límite '' (The Sky's the Limit), is dedicated to provide a common sense leisure and responsibility with nature, ensuring a minimum impact on the environment.

Saturdays at 10:30 am at the door of the town hall. Personalized tours are also organized from Tuesday to Friday, by reservation from 10:00 to 14:00.
