Madrid Design Festival has not missed its appointment with the capital. The international festival returns for the fourth consecutive year with a very special edition to place Spain at the center of design.
From February 9 to March 2021 it will be possible to enjoy a host of offers that will focus on innovative proposals in the sector.
The Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa has been the space chosen to host 512 designers and professionals who will present the 183 activities of the Festival, including exhibitions, workshops, meetings and conferences. MDF has the support of 72 institutions and companies that will promote the role of design in resolving current conflicts.
The Festival takes advantage of this edition to recall the transforming capacity of design and the essential role it plays in a time of change such as the one we are experiencing.
This year, the focus is on national and local design in Madrid, bringing together new talents and key figures in graphic design, architecture, interior design and communication.
The space hosts different exhibitions such as Madrid Design Portrait, which presents fifteen local designers to get a portrait of the fabric and wealth of the capital; or Connected, where international professionals respond to current needs.
The program also features the innovative ¡Emergencia! Designs against COVID-19, which will focus on initiatives developed as a result of the pandemic; and the Madrid Design Pro conference, which will present professionals from the sector in a digital format.
In turn, in this edition, technology and design are more united than ever. A hybrid programming allows face-to-face and digital exhibitions with audiovisual content, in order to overcome the challenges that the health crisis has caused.
