The Region of Madrid offers a great historical and cultural supply that is evident in its numerous museums. But perhaps not all are well known but no less interesting. This week we suggest you a tour of six museums that even if you do not know well worth discovering.

Come to the Air Force Base of Cuatrovientos in Madrid to discover the Museum of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Divided into seven platforms, you can find on the outside from jet fighters, to seaplanes or helicopters, as well as unique pieces, among which are the Villanova-Acedo, the oldest airplane preserved in Spain; the German bomber Heinkel He 111 E-1 and a C-19 autogiro, designed by Juan de la Cierva, which made its first flight in 1932.

Located in the Plaza Mayor in the Madrid town of Cercedilla, is located the Ski Museum 'Paquito Fernández Ochoa' a museum centre for the dissemination of skiing, mountain sports, nature and the environment of the Sierra de Guadarrama which shows historical objects, artwork and photographs to learn more about the characteristics of this sport as well as parts, trophies and documentation of the trajectory of the Olympic Francisco Fernandez Ochoa.

In Alcalá de Henares you can enjoy the Royal Botanic Garden Juan Carlos I, a research project, conservation and dissemination of flora and environment, of the University of Alcalá in collaboration with the Region of Madrid, which offers nurseries, taxonomic garden, orquidearium, regional flora park, and Mediterraneidad park as well as gardens Touch-Olfactory among other thematic enclosures. 

The 4th Floor Module C-VI of the Faculty of Sciences of the Autonomous University of Madrid hosts the Museum of Mineralogy, which you will find over 600 minerals of great beauty from disinterested donations from professors of the University.

Another university, in this case the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, houses the Torres Quevedo Museum, where you will find the preceding numerical calculation machines, remote control and telematics, and materials used by Torres Quevedo in their investigations. It is worth mentioning the 'chess player' and 'Telekino'.

Finally, we ended our tour in Colmenar de Oreja, there you can enjoy the Ulpiano Checa Museum, dedicated to the author of the same name, which exhibits more than 300 works of this great painter.
