Traditional cuisine

After a morning in Medieval times, it's time to eat.

Enjoy the patatas chulas (potatoes confit in olive oil and seasoned with garlic, parsley and a little vinegar), and the pozas (a kind of sandwich made of bread in which the crumb is replaced by a mince of onion, tomato and pickle). You can also try the pisto vaquero (made with the prestigious vegetables from their garden) or the desarreglo (beef stewed with white wine, garlic and tomato), which along with the roast kid, monopolize much of the menus of local restaurants.

Also, if you are one of those who believe that a sweet or a cheese is the best souvenir, be sure to visit the many artisan stores. You can buy the famous sheep's cheese, or pelotas de fraile (a fried ball flavored with grated lemon and anise).

But if you like strong emotions and spirits, you can't miss the typical lemongrass, which reaches 24º and has digestive properties.

Another outstanding product is the olive oil, of long tradition and elaborated mainly with the cornicabra variety.
