PRÁDENA DEL RINCÓN
Between transhumant paths and watercourses, Prádena offers stunning natural landscapes in which to practice activities in contact with nature: hiking, photography, cycling routes...
Nestled in the Sierra del Rincón, between transhumant paths and watercourses, appears one of the villages that are part of the Biosphere Reserve, a unique place very close to Madrid. We recommend that you book a visit, go to www.sierradelrincon.org to make sure you don't miss it.
Prádena offers important natural samples with undergrowth and riparian vegetation, oak groves, melojares, beech, pine and pine forests, along with an impressive variety of wildlife that are the delight of lovers of the natural environment. One of the areas we recommend you to visit is the Laguna del Salmoral, which includes a bird and amphibian observatory, an arboretum and an open-air geological museum.
If you take a walk around the village, stop for a moment at the Church of Santo Domingo de Silos, one of the oldest in the area (dating from the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries). Or the horseshoeing colt, ancient and genuine, gives an idea of the importance that cattle had in this municipality.
Prádena del Rincón has four trails that are part of the set of Sendas de Madrid, are accessible to most audiences, it is time to choose one. Hiking, photography, environmental education, bicycle routes, gastronomy... Come and enjoy.
