Next Friday 17 February, Madrid Carnival 2012 begins!! Do you already have a fancy dress? This year, Madrid Carnival is inspired in the Medieval Bestiary, so there will be monsters, fauns, toads, centaurs and fantastic creatures around the city!

A lot of carnival activities will take place between 17 and 22 February; you cannot missed them! Here you have some suggestions:

Carnival Opening Ceremony: Friday 17 February, 19.00h, Plaza de la Villa. This edition, the famous Spanish film actor and director Santiago Segura will be playing Don Carnal (the figure of Carnival).

Carnival Parade: Saturday 18 February, 19.30h. From Retiro Park to Plaza de Colón (Alcalá Street, Plaza de Cibeles, Paseo de Recoletos). Carnival floats and street performances produced by six theatre companies will transport us to a world of magic and fantastic creatures.

REC Madrid Electronic Music and Audiovisual Festival: Saturday 18 February, from 22.00h to 6.00h. Satélite Arena Pavilion (at Casa de Campo Exhibition Centre). Enjoy the best electronic music (Mixmaster Morris and Matt Black, DJ2D2, and much more).

Traditional burial of the sardine (Entierro de la sardina): Wednesday 22 February, 18.00h. Starting at San Antonio de la Florida (Chapel). This traditional parade is the end of Carnival days.
