If you think that it doesn't exist an only place in Madrid where you can taste Manchego cheese, saffron from Teruel, anchovies and tuna from Bay of Biscay, sausages from Guijuelo and bakery from Galicia, it is because you haven't attended yet "Eating Madrid". That’s the XI edition of this opened air food fair which takes place in the central Plaza of Santa Cruz. That’s an ideal stop after a visit to “Habsburg's Madrid” (Madrid de los Austrias) or before strolling around El Rastro’s stalls, on a Sunday mid-morning. As principal novelty we find the Asturiana Island, a place where you can taste and purchase selected products from Asturias, such as fabadas (bean stew), cheese and high-quality tinned food, of course the traditional cider that you cannot miss in this region. It will be from 25th to 29th of May from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., when you can "Eating Madrid” or go around Spain through the palate. Eating Madrid Date: from 25th to 29th of May of 2011 Place: Plaza de Santa Cruz Opening hours: from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Related articles: Tapas in Madrid Restaurants with pure Spanish flavours Like a noble around the Habsburg’s Madrid El Rastro: a place where to get lost without hurry |
