Indian dance, gastronomy and culture will burst in Lavapiés area, one more year, from 3rd to 5th of June 2011. The Agustín Lara square will be the folkloric and modern dances’ stage. Seventeen companies, composed by 150 international artists will be responsible for moving you to the heart of this Asiatic country. Patricia Passo and her prestigious school Fusión Art will inaugurate the programme on the 3rd of June at 8.30 p.m. While, Sunny Singh and his company Bailamos Bollywood (We dance Bollywood) will close the event on Saturday at 9 p.m. The artist from Calcutta Sohini Roychowdhury, considered the first Bh aratanatyam dancer in the World, will play as headliner captaining the international group Sohinimoksha on Sunday at 7.30 p.m. The British choreograph Mistri, Bollywood’s anchor; will close the festival on 5th of June at 8.30 p.m., accompanied by the cast of famous musical Sueños de Bollywood (Dreams of Bollywood). This square will also host cinematographic premieres on the open air and typical dishes for only 1 euro. Fifty exhibitors of Gastronomic Days will be at Agustín Lara and Lavapiés squares. The Mercado de La India (Indian Market) will get twenty stands together at La Corrala square; besides traditional fashion this characteristic area of Lavapiés will host free dance workshops for children and adults. Taste India, beyond BollyMadridA Tajmahal model shows you that here you can eat delicious Indian food. We’re talking about Taj (Marqués de Cubas 6), a restaurant that you don’t have to miss to taste a good tandoori Chicken or a lamb tikka in the madrileña capital, maybe after you have seen a beautiful sunset from the Círculo de Bellas Artes roof terrace. The Mumbai Massala's (Recoletos 14) decoration, with a wall full of Bollywood movies’ posters, from today and yesterday, lets no doubt: here you can accompany every kind of spices with a Kingfisher or Cobra beer.
