Models photographs at a Museum? Yes, that’s Thyssen Bornemisza Museum’s idea and for this daring proposal counts with the work of one of the best artist in the world: the Peruvian photographer Mario Testino. The exhibition Todo o Nada, that will be able to visit until the beginning of January 2011, consists of 54 photographs that reveal two opposing directions in his work: fashion and nude. These subjects are to be discovered both in his well-known published oeuvre as a fashion photographer as well as in his personal work. The show includes a number of photographs specially taken for this exhibition and seen here for the first time. In front of Testino’s camera has posed lots of world international top models, actresses and others celebrities. All of them have shown their most glamour image and little by little they have been undressed by the camera until they have let seen their essence. For Mario Testino, the heart of 'Todo o Nada' lies in contemplating the process and implications involved in the act of removing one’s clothes and becoming naked. In this way we will be able to admire the photos of models like Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss, Natalia Vodianova or Sienna Miller... The exhibition includes photographs in which the models wear elaborate dresses, contrasted with others in which they are seen starkly unclothed, referring to iconic works of Spanish art such as Goya’s Majas. Todo o Nada Date: From the 21st of September to the 9th of January of 2011 Openning hours: from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00 a.m. until 07.00 p.m. Place: Thyssen Bornemisza Museum. Paseo del Prado 8, 28014 Madrid. Price: 5 € |
