They are the most fashionable bars and gastrobars. The trendiest places in Madrid where all the cool people go
into every night. We have written a selection of the best places where you have to go in order to be seen. Don't
miss them!.
El Fabuloso. Located in Triball neighbourhood (3, Estrella Street) this local keeps inside something fabulous. Perhaps it is the sound of the best indie music played by Dj Silvia Superstar, or perhaps it is because of its decoration: glitter and leopard on the walls, vintage tables and chairs and that music… here every detail will remind us to the fifties in the USA and if you are a woman you will feel as an authentic pin up girl. The drinks will cost you between 7 or 8 euros. The local is opened till 2.30 a.m. in the week and till 3.30 a.m the weekends. Near El Fabuloso is another fashionable bar: José Alfredo (22, Silva Street). This is another must in your night in Madrid. This bar belongs to the members of a Spanish music band, Marlango, and perhaps for this reason there are always people from the music and film world. The decoration is like in the 60ies and the music is a mixture: jazz, soul, rithm &blues… and modern atmosphere. The cocktails and drinks are well served and the prices are between 8 and 9 euros. Try a Gin Fizz or the José Alfredo, a cocktail with rum, grenadine, cointreau, orange and pineapple. But if you want to eat something before drinking a cocktails, then you must try another way of tapeo and go into these new locals. The first one, La Realidad, is located between Malasaña and Triball, in Corredera Baja de San Pablo, in the corner with Escorial Street. This new bar serves wonderful Gin tonics and original ‘tapas’. They have also a great offer of wines. The local is opened at breakfast time till midnight and the atmosphere is very literary: journalists, writers, artists come here to have a break sitting on the vintage sofas and drinking a coffee in little and comfortable tables. The music is not very loud and you can have a good chat. If you are lucky you can listen to the small poet Ajo, very well known in this modern environment. Another way of 'tapeo'Another place to have an aperitif but inside a more classic atmosphere is Gastro Bar Lecabrera (Bárbara de Braganza 2, Alonso Martínez or Colón stop subway). The chef Benjamín Bensoussan will cook you delicious and refined portions and you can order half a portion if you are not very hungry. After that, you can go downstairs and enjoy with one of the 50 cocktails that the argentine barman Diego Cabrera serves. Swing music, decorations from the fifties and chic people are the things that you are going to find in Le Cabrera. Drinks and cocktails cost around 10 euros, but it depends on the sort of the drink, of course. With a refined atmosphere we find also Ramsés, located in Plaza de la Independencia, in the downtown of Madrid. Its suggestion is called Sunset, a purpose beyond a normal ‘afterworks’ : they offer design and avant-garde. For 5 euros they offer you a cocktail, a tapa or Italian aperitif and live music. The view is quite spectacular: the Puerta de Alcalá and the Retiro Park can be seen from the bar through the big windows. Another place that is always on the top is Museo Chicote. This old cocktail bar is always in fashion, no matter how many years have come by. Founded in 1931, nowadays is still a place for meeting the artists, writers, and beautiful people, although there is always a mixture of people. Here you can enjoy a Chicote cocktail, a Gin Fizz, a Daiquiri or a Bellino while you listen to music. So, that is!!! With all these clues you are ready to show you off in Madrid!! Clasificado as:: |
